Small Business - the economic heart of Kooyong

On the morning of Tuesday 27 July, Josh visited small businesses in Kooyong and is pictured here with the owners of a cafe in Burwood Road, Hawthorn. Josh believes Australia's 2.4 million small businesses and their 4 million employees need to be more strongly supported. Small business is at the heart of both Kooyong's economy and the national economy, but many are now facing challenging times as interest rates rise, following the reckless and wasteful spending of the Rudd/Gillard Government.

Planting in South Surrey Park

On Sunday 25 July, Josh joined other volunteers in planting in South Surrey Park, in Surrey Hills (pictured here). On a regular basis volunteers give of their time to replant the park with indigenous native species providing a natural habit for native animals. The volunteers have done a fantastic job over many years and the Park is clearly one of Kooyong's environmental landmarks.

Visit to Hays Paddock in Kew East

On 24 July, Josh was joined by friends at Hays Paddock in Kew East. Described as the 'grand pinnacle of playgrounds', the set up is terrific for children and was designed to enable kids of all physical and intellectual abilities to play together. The playground is surrounded by various sporting fields, bushlands and wetlands - showcasing Kooyong's beautiful environment.

A Sea of Blue in Burke Road, Camberwell

On 24 July, Josh was joined with many supporters (pictured here) as they handed out flyers in Burke Road, Camberwell. The  bustling retail strip and fresh food market brought many people out into the Saturday sunshine. It provided a great opportunity for Josh to talk with local people about the major issues being discussed in the campaign.

Kew Rovers Football Club Women’s Breakfast 2010

On 23 July, Josh attended the Kew Rovers Women's Breakfast 2010 at The Boulevard in Studley Park Road, Kew. Josh is the Number One ticket holder at the Club. Kew Rovers is the first football club in Boroondara to have a junior girls team. The girls, some of whom are pictured here at the breakfast with Josh, are aged between 12 and 18 years old and are all in the one team. The team, known as 'The Kangas', compete in the Eastern Youth Girls competition. The girls team is a fantastic development for the Club and one hopes is the start of many more female teams at Kew Rovers in the future.
