Call for headspace site for Kooyong

On July 6, Josh called on the Gillard government to consider Kooyong as a suitable location for a new headspace site. headspace sites provide a one-stop shop for young people, aged 12 to 25, to access information and services relating to general health and well-being, mental health and alcohol and drug services. Labor fails to consult ATO on Carbon Tax

On July 4, the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit tabled its report into the biannual hearings with the Commisioner of Taxation. The report revealed that the Gillard Government did not consult the Australian Tax Office (ATO) prior to announcing the carbon tax. The ATO’s supplementary submission to the Committee states “The ATO was not consulted on the current proposal for a carbon price, as the matter was being handled by another department.” This is remarkable given the ATO will be responsible for administering the tax. Boroondara Genesis

On July 2, Josh joined the president of the Boroondara Netball Association, Dr Sue Reddish, and many other keen netball followers for a Division 1 home match between Boroondara Genesis and Victoria University’s Western Lightning. Boroondara Genesis won the game, continuing their great season where they now sit on top of the table. After getting to toss the coin at the start of the game Josh is pictured here with the winning Genesis team and Boroondara mayor, Cr Nicholas Tragas.
