Delivering local initiatives for our future

  • Investing $260 million to fully fund the removal of the Glenferrie Road level crossing at Kooyong Station, and providing $10 million to assess the removal of level crossings at Tooronga Road and Madden Grove, Burnley.
  • Investing $65 million in park-and-ride facilities at Camberwell, Canterbury, Glenferrie and Surrey Hills train stations for 2,000 new car park spaces. Between them these four stations service up to 6.5 million commuters a year.
  • Delivering $2.85 million to improve local roads and congestion
  • Delivering $5 million to improve safety on the Yarra Boulevard including CCTV, lighting and speed inhibitors.
  • Delivering $1.5 million for the reconstruction of the Walmer Street cyclist and pedestrian bridge in Kew.
  • Delivering $2 million to protect and restore the Yarra River including $500,000 for the Yarra Riverkeeper.
  • Delivering more than $8 million for the Swinburne Secondary College/Fritsch Holzer redevelopment in Hawthorn to cater to wheelchair athletes and include indoor courts and to redevelop the oval.
  • Delivering more than $1.6 million to upgrade and replace club rooms and facilities across Kooyong for female football, cricket, soccer and hockey players.
  • Delivering $1.2 million for an additional four courts for the Boroondara Netball Association.
  • Delivering $200,000 for CCTV cameras in Hawthorn and Camberwell, helping prevent vandalism against local businesses and anti-social behaviour.
  • Delivering more than $30 million to local disability and health services groups in Kew and Surrey Hills.
  • Delivering $200,000 to local community organisations Hawthorn Community Chest and Boroondara Cares for support programs for youth and those in need in our local community.
