|Restrictions are easing, summer is coming, and we can look forward to a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
After such a challenging 18 months, it’s more important than ever that we continue to support the great work of Servants Community Housing in Hawthorn and Kew, through the annual Kooyong Giving Tree appeal.
Now in its ninth year, the appeal has raised more than $100,000 in donations of goods, gift vouchers and cash to support Servants’ work of providing affordable and safe accommodation for people in our community who are doing it especially tough.
I again invite you to get into the Christmas spirit and give to this worthy cause if you can.
WHAT YOU CAN DONATE
- Money in the form of a cheque or an online donation;
- Gift vouchers;
- Non-perishable food items, including cereals, tea, rice, sugar, pasta, Christmas puddings and cakes; and
- Essentials and helpful items such as new adults’ clothing, gardening tools, cards/board games, stationery/art equipment and quality books.
To make a tax-deductible donation, you can give online at www.servants.org.au/giving-tree/
Alternatively, you can post cheques payable to ‘Kooyong Giving Tree – Servants Community Housing’, and gift vouchers to my electorate office at PO Box 1253, Camberwell 3124 or 145 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn East 3123.
Due to COVID-19, donations of food and other goods can be dropped off to Servants Community Housing at Hamer Court, 535 High Street, Kew. A donation box will be left out the front so that your donation can be received in a COVIDsafe way. Please ensure that your name and contact number are clearly marked on your donation.
