The National Accounts for the December quarter 2018 show that the Australian economy grew by 2.7 per cent in calendar year 2018. Real GDP grow by 0.2 per cent, within the range of market expectations.

Australia continues to grow faster than all of the G7 nations, except for the United States. Unemployment is at its lowest level in seven years, growth in government spending is at its lowest level in fifty years and the proportion of working age Australians on welfare is at its lowest level in thirty years.

The foundations of our economy are in good shape- we are still on track to record our 28th consecutive year of economic growth.

The Coalition’s plan will continue to deliver more jobs, a stronger economy, a Budget which will be in surplus and the essential services that people rely on.
