On 17 October, I attended a moving ceremony at the Tribute Field of Women at Federation Mall Parliament House, hosted by Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
The Tribute Field of Women marks BCNA’S 20th anniversary, and pays tribute to breast cancer survivors and those who have sadly passed. It is estimated in 2018 that 18,087 women and 148 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast Cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia and the number of cases are on the rise, however, the number of deaths from breast cancer is decreasing.
BCNA is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer and their headquarters are based in my electorate of Kooyong. For more information and support services please visit here.
