Business Growth Fund roundtable meeting

Out and About

Date Posted : 07 December 2018

On 7 December, I hosted a roundtable discussion with the Minister for Small and Family Business, Senator Michaelia Cash, to examine how best to implement the creation of an Australian private sector-owned Business Growth Fund.

A Business Growth Fund would provide longer-term equity funding to small businesses that otherwise find it difficult to attract passive equity investment.

The Governor of Reserve Bank of Australia, Philip Lowe, attended along with representatives from APRA, the ACCC, COSBOA, the ABA, ASBFEO & the big banks.

With more than three million small businesses employing around seven million Australians, enhancing small business access to funding is part of the Liberal National Government’s plan for a stronger economy.
