I travelled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from February 21-24 to attend the G20 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting. The Meeting was an important opportunity to promote Australia’s economic interests and our nation’s economic resilience.
During my trip, I had the opportunity to meet and have productive discussions with a number of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors from countries around the globe like Canada, Saudi Arabia, the United States, India, the UK, Indonesia and Italy. I also met with the Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva. We discussed the global economic outlook at the time of heightened uncertainty.
The Meeting provided a platform to discuss relevant global economic opportunities and challenges, such as international trade, taxation, infrastructure, the significance of Australia’s bilateral relationships and the impact of Coronavirus on global growth.
